All occassion gifts & cards

There’s always an occasion to send a card to a friend.   The day there’s not an occasion to send a card is even better!   When was the last time you just sent a card to a friend – just because?    My friend Danielle has a knack for it.   I get one on a random Tuesday during the month and they seem to come at a time when I need them the most.   Usually they are about friendship, shopping, or they have a cute baby or dog on it.    They make me smile.

Inspirational cards are special to send, too.  Maybe your friend is going through a stressful time and needs an encouraging sentiment.   Our friend Eleonor McCary (who unfortunately isn’t on our design team) made a card for us that would be a perfect card to send to a friend.   She used PSA Dare to Dream Peel & Stick stamps to create this Live for the Moment card.

Our design team member Mara Campbell created this amazing Dare to Dream card set.  She made a series of 6 cards, all coordinating but different, and tied them up to make a perfect gift package.   Send one individually or send them all so the recipient can send them out.   She uses such great papers!

Leave a comment today and let us know what is the nicest card you ever received?  What was the sentiment?  I’ll put all the comments as entries into a drawing and one lucky winner will receive a Dare to Dream Peel & Stick pack.

  1. Since my sister is a cardmaker too, I am lucky to receive many beautiful cards. Since I know how much time goes into them, it makes me even more appreciative.

  3. What a beautiful gift idea! She has chosen such cheery paper. I have so many cards that I make each week (usually between 4-7), that I love just popping one in the mail to an unsuspecting recipient. I know I love getting happy snail mail, and I hope they do too! The last one I sent was this week!

  5. Usually the "nicest" cards are from my crafty friends, but the BEST are from my kids saying simple things like: "I love you". It doesn't get any better than that!

  6. The most precious card I ever got was a hand drawn, handmade from just a piece of construction paper. It was from my niece who was 9 at the time, she is 27 now. She had been in a horrible car accident and was hospitalized for many months. Her first Christmas back at home she wanted the biggest Christmas tree I could find. I got a 15ft tall Frasier fir (thank goodness I had a cathedral ceiling in my living room). After much therapy she learned to read and write again and getting that card was the best present I've ever gotten in my entire life.

  7. The nicest card I received was on the 1 year anniversary of my dad's passed away, a friend sent me a card of how she still think of me. It touched me so much that she remembered a year later. I never forget that.

  8. Blog candy! Haha! Haven't heard that one before! Ok, the most precious card I ever got was from my sister-in-law. As she cleaned out her mother's effects, she came across that my late grandfather had sent to her late mother. She gave me that card and the thoughtful, hand-written note my grandfather had included. It was a wonderful token and remembrance of a wonderful man. I'm grateful my SIL passed it on to me!

  9. Oooh, I love the papers and what she did with them! I get some gorgeous cards from my stamping friends. They're usually pretty elaborate unlike mine!

I love surprising a sick or hurting friend with a card as often as I can.

  10. Beautiful card! My most memorable card is the one's I got when I had my wisdom teeth pulled in high school and became very ill. My friend went around and had a ton of kids from school sign it, the cards made my day :)

  11. My most treasured cards are the ones my sweet little four year old makes for me. Granted he can't write words yet, so he tells me what the mean. But boy does he like to use a ton of stamps on them.

  12. Oh yes! I love to send "just because" cards to my friends all over the world. I know how special it is to get something in the mail unexpectedly and it is a wonderful pick-me-up when you're feeling overwhelmed or stressed. I even had my three year old niece ask if she could make her teacher a card one day...What a fun time watching (and snapping photos) of her coloring some stamped images and sticking them on a card!!! She was so proud of her work!

  16. The best card I ever received was from my brother in 2002 when I spent half of the year in the hospital. He wrote "Keep your faith and prayers strong..." When I read that I thought..yah, that is all I need to do to get through all of this. And that has now become the words I speak to myself when I am having a tough time and I feel stronger as soon as I think it.
That one card given to me 8 years ago has stayed in my mind everyday since then...

  24. Love the set of cards..looks so easy. The nicest card I ever got was not homemade. It was a Valentine my daddy sent me in mid-March when I was stationed in Germany. He said he waited till Valentine's was over so the card was cheaper, but he signed it "Love, Dad", and I think that was the only card I ever got specifically from him.
