Stamping and Stamps

I have a new obsession. Stamps! I am not talking about PSA Essentials stamps, or other to-die-for rubber stamps, I am talking about postage stamps. And not just regular postage stamps but vintage ones. I was turned onto The Paper Nickel Stamp Company, who carries vintage postage stamps from 1900 to 1980, by my favorite wedding blog. If you've been reading PSA Stamp Camp blog since we started, you know that I love email, e-cards, and all things online – but I really do have a true passion for the good ole-fashioned United States Postal Service. It cannot be replaced! Receiving a letter in the mail, a card in the mail, or an invitation beats all catalogs, coupons, and certainly bills. USPS forever!

I am co-hosting a couple's shower for some of my closest friends, Susan & Luke. (Susan just happens to be on our design team.) When I saw these vintage stamps, I knew I had to have them for the invitations. Check out how beautifully they turned out!

You can see I also used my PSA Essentials custom stamp for the outer ring and switched out the middle for the wedding cake. (Find the wedding cake in PSA Mr. & Mrs.) Each invitation is like a present and both my PSA stamp and the vintage stamps make the contents of the envelope extra special. What's best about the vintage stamps is their rich history and story to tell – licking them and putting them on was fun.

I'd recommend The Paper Nickel Stamp Company to anyone. Their website is extremely user friendly. There are two options to order. I took option 1 where I relied on Holly to choose the most beautiful stamps, color combinations and designs. Option 2 is for those who want a little more control, if you were sending a wedding invitation and needed more than .44 cents, and wanted to follow a specific color scheme. Their website can be found here: http://thepapernickel.com/

Also - naturally I think that the  invitations and the envelope look even better with my custom PSA Stamp.  I wanted to mention for anyone looking to purchase one that our friends at 2PreppyGirls.com are having a 10% off sale on PSA Essentials.   Just enter PSA10 at checkout, hurry because it ends Valentine's Day.  If you have been eyeing a custom stamp...now is the time!  Head on over to www.2PreppyGirls.com - they're also having a sale on tons of other personalized and monogrammed items!

Happy Stamping & Vintage Stamping!
