Bottle cap necklaces are so in right now. For 6 & 7 year olds! So why not make one with them? They are fun and easy to make. Amber Zimmerman created one using a PSA Whimsy Cake Peel & Stick stamp, Helmar Glue and Sparkle Mod Podge from Helmar and Helmar Premium Craft Glue.
- Stamp PSA Whimsy Cake onto paper, color with Copics
- Cut paper and adhere using Helmar Premium Craft Glue
- Take a heart and star silver brad, clip the backs off of them, put tiny stickers in the brads
- Use Sparkle Mod Podge by Helmar to cover them
- Poke holes in the brads and the bottle cap and put tiny jump rings through them
- Use Sparkle Mod Podge by Helmar to cover the cupcake

This is a great project. My 14 year old daughter loves to make jewelry out of stuff that is unconventional. Can't wait for her to wake up this morning so I can show her. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteCute! There are so many trinkets you could add to this to personalize it. A homemade kit (with holes prepunched in the caps) would make a cute birthday gift for a girl of any age.

Really fun! Love the sparkle. And the bottlecap!
ReplyDeleteHere's a tip to all bottle cap crafters, if you haven't learned it already: You can purchase bottle caps from beer supply stores for a fraction of what you pay if you go through craft vendors. MakingFriends.com usually has pretty good prices on stuff. Their bottle caps were $4 for 36. I bought 144 caps for 2.99. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteBottle cap pendants are indeed in these days -- showing some love to the environment? I will try to do this personalized jewelry with my daughter and my nieces. I’m pretty sure they’ll love it.
