Happy Birthday Britt!

One of my good friends Britt Bader is celebrating her birthday today!

Britt is personally responsible for two major areas of my life: my friends and my home. I'll start by explaining why she's responsible for my friends. My parents bought their vacation home next door to her parents and in the summer of 2002, I came down during summer break and met Britt. Over the years she's introduced me to all of her friends who became mine: Ashley, Abby, Lisa, Tonnye, this goes on… (Susan is really the only exception… I hired her in 2003 at World Design Marketing!)

Britt is what Malcolm Gladwell would call a "connector." A connector knows lots of people. From acquaintances to true friends to business colleagues to family friends, they're the social people that have an extraordinary knack of making friends and connections. (You can read more about his theory and find out if you are a connector by taking his phone book test. It's a fun thing to do! )

Britt & her husband Matt sold us their house in March of 2009. So not only do I have to thank her for my friends, but also for a beautiful house! To celebrate Britt's birthday, we are having a party at Susan's house tonight. Here are some blog birthday cards for you, Britty! These are all done by Carly Robertson. I just love the "HB2U" banner here! She's used PSA Vanilla Peel & Stick stamps to spell out the message.
