Baby Shower Game

This weekend, I went to a baby shower for my good friend (and fabulous tennis partner) Erin Carmines to celebrate her baby girl due to arrive this November. Her mother-in-law hosted 20 guests at her beautiful home in Windmill Harbor. We drank champagne, lunched on a beautiful piece of salmon over field greens, and then ooohed and aghhed as Erin opened her gifts.

I created a guest book & keepsake for the shower. The most tasteful and non-game like game ever, it is called "Wishes for Baby." Guests each fill out a card by answering questions like: "I hope you learn_______, I hope you aren't afraid of _____, I hope you love _____, I hope you never forget ______, I hope you ignore _____, I hope you respect _______." The questions can be surprisingly difficult to answer, and guests spent a lot of time on them. When everyone's done, you collect them and put them into a scrapbook or journal.

I used a paper pad from Me & My Big Ideas – all the coordinating cardstock, patterns, colors of paper make it really easy to look cohesive. The finished size of the card was 5 x 9, I layered a 4 x 8 piece of paper, and a 3 x 7 Wishes for Baby print out (which I did in Microsoft Word) on top. Then I stamped from PSA Little Bunny and PSA Carriage, punched out with my 1.5" scallop punch, and adhered. All 20 cards which are unique took less than 2 hours.

Here are my wishes for Baby Carmines…

  1. What a fabulous idea! Hope you don't mind if I steal it from you. I'm hosting a baby shower for a friend later this month and this would be perfect for her.
