Cards that break the mold

I worked in advertising for 8 years before PSA Essentials and if I had a quarter for every brainstorming session I was in when the direction was to "think outside of the box", I would be rich. Or at least have a thousand extra dollars. The proverbial "think outside of the box" has resurfaced for me as greeting card shapes are breaking the rectangle. Some even break the square. Nowadays, I see cards designed in circles, shapes of giraffes or bottles, flowers, and silhouettes. Kelley Eubanks designed these original greeting cards which are great ideas for you to try when you are in a card making rut. This is quite literally thinking outside the box.

This flower shaped card uses a yummy patterned paper in Harvest Gold and Pure Poppy by Papertrey and Jack and Jill "How Sweet It Is" Berries Paper by My Minds Eye. I like seeing Kelley use patterned papers! She's stamped "Thinking of You" from PSA Dare to Dream Peel & Stick.

Up next, she created this "JOY" baby onesie card. You will need the Baby Onesie Template by Paper Smooches. Print it on your home printer and carefully cut out. She stamped "J-O-Y" from PSA Vanilla Peel & Stick – each in a different and colorful ink. The contrast of the primary colors, the gems, and the white is great.

I also love this apron card, which even has a pocket to stick some money in! She used the Apron Template by Paper Smooches, printed it at home and carefully cut out. She used Mary Mary" Happy Birthday" Grown Up paper by My Minds Eye and Simply Chartreuse and Vintage Cream by Papertrey – a great combination of colors, pattern and texture. She stamped the "K" from our Gigi Monogram K Peel & Stick pack.
