DIY Food Flags

I recently made these fun food flags for my friends Bachelorette Party.  I cheated and bought the food flags already assembled -- so all I had to do was stamp onto them. The flags are made by Recollections and sold at Michael's -- they are very handy!  (You could easily cut your own paper and glue onto a tooth pick, but I was a bit pressed for time so these worked perfectly!)

I used stamps from PSA Love Birds, Happy Holidays and Just A Note.  I used my PSA Essentials stamper loaded with either grapefruit, poppy or lime ink and stamped right onto the flag.  The whole process only took a few minutes, stopping only to change my stamp die or ink. (In case you don't know how to change your die, check out this video.  To learn how to change your ink, check out this video.)

You can use the food flags for cupcake toppers, or stick in cheeses or appetizers for a festive flair during cocktails and apps!

A fun and festive way to add a little something extra to your party, these party food flags were a hit and really simple to make!

Birthday Celebration

This weekend we celebrated my husband's 40 something birthday! It was filled with family fun. From supporting Mike at his Belfair "Breakfast at Wimbledon" Event, to some arts and crafts, to a party with my in-laws, it felt action packed. Molly and I created cupcake toppers, cards, and some other decorations for our family party Sunday night and of course, we found a way to use PSA Essentials in our crafts! I made cupcake toppers using my PSA Essentials Whimsy Cakes Peel & Stick stamps and they turned out cute! Here's a quick look at all of our fun...

Belfair Country Club in Bluffton, South Carolina sits on the beautiful Colleton River and it's one of the most beautiful places in the Lowcountry. The grass tennis court was erected a few years ago when Mike started this event.  Now members use it for a practice court. Molly and Connor were excited to go watch Daddy play tennis (and have lots of sweets by their talented chef and pastry chef!)

When we got home, Connor went for his nap and Molly and I worked on our crafts and decorations! I stamped using my PSA Whimsy Cake Peel & Stick pack on white cardstock. As variation on my usual cupcake toppers, I colored the stamps in and sealed them with Sparkle Mod Podge.

Sunday it was time to party! My in laws came for dinner. Please note the amazing napkins I found...

What a fun weekend! We are gearing up for 4th of July celebrations later this week. Cannot wait for a few days off to celebrate summer with our friends and family.

Cupcake Topper Tutorial

Someone's wife at PSA Essentials is having a baby, and seeing that we haven't gotten together as a company in awhile, I thought it would be fun to surprise him with some cupcakes and also to celebrate his baby girl due next week. I used the opportunity for an afternoon activity with my kids, Molly and Connor, and we crafted some cute and easy cupcake toppers using my PSA Essentials Carriage Peel & Stick stamp set.  Here's a quick tutorial on how to make these fun and easy toppers for your next party!

You'll need the following supplies for your cupcake toppers:

Start by stamping on cardstock. Use your helpers! Molly and Connor love stamping projects.

When you have finished stamping, take your EK Success Scalloped Edge Punch and punch out.

Use your hot glue gun or heavy duty adhesive to adhere the toothpicks to the paper.

I got the cupcakes from our favorite bakery, Ronnie's Bakery in Bluffton.

There were a few cupcakes left over which I was happy to bring home to the kiddos who REALLY enjoyed a mid-week treat out of nowhere!

Congrats to the family expecting a baby girl! Be sure to share your cupcake toppers on our Facebook page or let us know any questions you might have here on our blog.

St. Patrick's Day Mini Cupcakes

I "made" these for an after-school treat today! We are working on some of our St. Paddy's day crafts this afternoon and thought that we should have a corresponding theme snack for fun.  I scored these festive cupcakes at Kroger and made some quick cupcake toppers using my PSA Essentials stamps to make them EXTRA special.  (I'd much rather craft then bake!)

I used my Mixed Holiday Peel & Stick pack by PSA Essentials and chose the shamrock. I loaded it up on my PSA standard stamper with Hunter ink.  I stamped onto kelly green scrapbook paper and punched out with a 1.5" inch circle punch.  Then I taped to lollipop sticks.

The cupcakes are waiting on the table for the kids and it will be a welcomed surprise, I am sure!

Are you ready for St. Patrick's Day? What are you working on?  Be sure to stock up on your stamps, get your "Mixed Holiday Pack" here and you'll have your shamrock in time for St. Paddy's Day!
