Happy Birthday January Babies!

Do you have a month packed with birthdays? I do! That month is January. On January 12th, it's my mom's birthday. January 13th, my best friend from college Kristin turns 30. January 14th, my best friend from high school Danielle turns 30. My friends Amanda, Anthony, Katie and a few others have birthday's this month. These days, some people are skipping the card but I think that's a shame. Instead of an e-card or email, send a good ole fashioned snail mail card – handmade by you. Our designers have some great ideas for us.

This card from Jennifer Holmes is so sweet. She stamped cupcakes from PSA Whimsy Cakes and one of my favorite sentiments (Skip the Cake and eat the icing from Smirk). She colored up the cupcakes and added a little embellishment. Too cute!

This card also by Jennifer Holmes would be a great one to send a teenager or a younger child. It's very whimsical. She stamped with PSA Rocket and PSA Funky Numbers – two packs that our designers have rarely used since we started the design team. Funky numbers are great for kids projects, and so is the Rocket collection. Great way to use them Jennifer.

This girlie card is from Carly Robertson. I wish I could share all of Carly's birthday cards but they have all been picked up by magazines! I will be sure to alert you all when Just Cards and Paper Creations have her featured this Spring and Summer. Here's a peak at one of her designs that didn't get picked up. How does she tie the bow so perfectly?! Coloring up the stamp really makes the card.

What are some of your birthday traditions? We almost always do any celebrate with a cake from Ronnie's Bakery. Loudres who owns Ronnie's did our wedding cake, Molly's christening cake, and so many more special events for us. Here are some pictures of our cakes. Have a great day & Happy Birthday January babies. Have some cake for me!

  2. The Birthday person gets their choice of cake (mine is German Chocolate), and is known as King or Queen for the day, chooses all the meals and is waited upon by the rest of the family (except for the parents)

  5. Great card variety here! i love them all! It seems like the only month I don't have a lot of birthdays is August. This month I have a niece and a nephew both having birthdays. As our family grows, we usually celebrate all the birthdays for that month together. We used to do a separate cake for each person but that got to be TOO MUCH CAKE so we write all the names on 1 cake (or 2 if there are a lot). Thanks for sharing these great cards and cute photos!
