Molly’s Easter Egg Hunt: CD’s!

As you've been reading, I am a busy little bunny getting ready for Molly's Easter egg hunt. I have 8 of her friends joining us at my parent's home on Hilton Head from 2 pm – 5 pm on Sunday.   As a favor, I created a CD with a playlist I created of Molly's favorite songs. The music is a mixture of adult music appropriate for kids, and kid's music that's tolerable for adults. And any parent knows, finding tolerable kids music is hard!

I designed covers for each of the CD's. Here's a peak at what they look like. I stamped from PSA Little Bunny (so cute!) and PSA Topiary. Hard to tell which stamp I like the best…it could be the little lion.

Here are a few more that turned out great, I love the elephant. Now that one could be my favorite.

If you have a moment, pop over to iTunes and check out Elizabeth Mitchell's CD titled "You are my sunshine." It's my new obsession and a must have for the car. Here's a peak at the playlists. I made two versions since some of the kids have siblings attending, so I wanted each to take home a different CD. Plus, I will need music for the 3 hours of the party.

What do you think? Let me know today!  This post was posted to Wow Me Wednesday's at Ginger Snap Crafts. and Blue Cricket Design linking party.

Molly’s Easter Egg Hunt: Egg Collection Bags

All this week, I'm sharing details of the Easter Egg Hunt I'm planning for my daughter Molly and eight of her 19-month old friends. As the name of the party suggests, the guests are in theory, going to collect eggs. So I created something for them to put their eggs in. Since I am making Easter baskets for them to take home, I decided to decorate paper bags for them to tote around and stash their eggs. These were so easy to make and very festive!

Up first, I played with pastels and series of three's. I used stamps from PSA Little Bunny and PSA Topiary. I stamped the Easter egg over and over again on an egg – turned out great!

I made each bag different – this one is for Alexander.

And here is one for Jess Bader. Jess is the first child of any of my friends down here, so she'll always have a special place in my heart!

Another bag, and this one is for Mia. I found a template online to color in Easter eggs. The markers I used are a bit brighter than I intended… waiting to splurge on my Copics, then I will really be able to get the right shade.

Sure was fun to make! Tomorrow I am sharing an Easter CD I made as favors. Tell me if you are planning an Easter egg hunt!

Planning an Easter Egg Hunt

With a child every holiday is more fun and exciting. For the readers that have kids, do you agree? I've never been this excited for Easter. I decided to throw an Easter Egg Hunt for Molly and 8 of her friends. I didn't have time to make the invitations, so I ordered this cute one from Tiny Prints. If you haven't seen their Studio Basics collections, be sure to check it out - they are very affordable!

I used Molly's personalized address stamp (yes, she has one!) and a Peel & Stick™ stamp from Little Bunny. I colored up the bunny (there were only 7 invitations to send out so it wasn't that time consuming.) They turned out great! Here are a few pictures – addresses are blurred for privacy!

How cute is the Little Bunny Peel & Stick pack!?  Stay tuned for my Easter baskets, Egg collecting bags & CD covers!

Easter Hippity Hop: 4/9 – 4/10

Welcome to KinderStampO's Hippity Hop! If you have arrived here from KinderStampO, then you are in the right place and welcome. Have you seen her new stamps? PSA Essentials is a stamp company, but that doesn't mean we don't get excited about other crafty goodness. I'm proud of Jess and this great venture of hers. For this hop, I have a great card and tag to share. You will be Easter ready in no time with all of these ideas.

Here's a card by our talented design team member Anthonette Chavez. Anthonette stamped the bunny from PSA Little Bunny, one of our newer collections. She also stamped the "Happy Easter" sentiment from PSA Topiary Peel & Stick. The card is whimsical yet sophisticated – and would make a perfect card to send this Easter.

Here's a close up of the cute little bunnies! I love how she has colored them up to bring them to life.

Anthonette has a real knack for designing a coordinating package. She created a gift tag to go along with the Easter card. Hang this on an Easter basket, write a note on the back of it to the recipient.

BLOG CANDY ALERT! While we are also sponsoring a prize this hop, we'd like to give you an additional chance to win.  JUST FOLLOW THIS BLOG and leave a comment as an entry to win a self-inking stamper & PSA Little Bunny!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

What does "Winner Winner Chicken Dinner" really mean, anyway?  Urban Dictionary (now mentioned in two posts in one day!) sure is a lot of fun.  Legend has it that every casino in Las Vegas had a three-piece chicken dinner with a potato and a veggie for $1.79. A standard bet decades ago was $2, so when you won a bet you had enough for a chicken dinner.   So the call of glorious victory rings out “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!"  No one knows if it's true, but I'm going with it.

The winner of the "Gotta Have Friends" blog hop is lucky #3 commentor: "BunnyFreak."  I can't make these things up.  To prove it, here's a snapshot.

The winner of the Paper Crafts giveaway is: Connie L Nacke Hendricks.  Well at least there won't be confusion and mutliple people claiming that they won (like if the name were Anne Smith!)  CONGRATS Connie!   You won a PSA prize of retailing $125.

Not BunnyFreak or Connie?  Don't despair... we have a blog hop this weekend!   We are sponsoring a prize package and offering some blog candy!  Fun to participate in and easy to win! Check back tonight at 12.01 AM EST.    Welcome new followers and fans, we are so happy to meet you.   Leave a comment today with your blog address so we can check you out!

Let’s Chat

Before Droid, iPhone and EVO, there was the Zack Morris phone. Urban Dictionary describes a Zack Morris phone as "one of those 8 pound cell phones that resembles a brick". If you watched the Saved by the Bell, you will remember that giant mobile phone. Need a visual? See this fabulous YouTube clip and be sure to enjoy the music at the end….it sure is something special!

Though I have a love of stationery and enjoy making and sending cards and letters, sometimes you just can't beat a phone conversation. I've recently been having a hard time catching up with my BFF from high school. She's a big wig shoe buyer for a major department store in the US. Lately, she's been traveling to China, Italy, London and I can barely catch her over BBM. (That's Blackberry Instant Messager – don't you love it?) I feel like I have to send her an invitation to talk on the phone she's so busy! I am proud of all of her success, and though we are leading different lives right now, I know one day we will be back on the same track.

Jennifer Holmes created this great "Let's Chat" card, and it's fitting to share in this post. I love the newsprint, black and white and the yellow adds a nice contrast and pop of color. The phone is stamped from PSA Essentials Frenchie Peel & Stick pack. I always wondered what I'd use it for in a paper craft – and this is an excellent idea.

Do you remember the Zack Morris phone? What would you use the telephone stamp for in your crafting? Comment today and let us know!

Supper Club & Thank-you cards

Nineteen months ago, I met some really great women in a support group at Hilton Head Hospital.  Karen and Ashley are both moms to kiddos Molly's age, and we've developed a wonderful friendship founded on no sleep and little clue as to what we were doing. During the first few months, we got together with our babies, swapped concerns, ideas, and stories. Recently supper club was established. We get babysitters and have adult time with our husbands! We take turns hosting, here we are at Ashley's in February and at Karen's in March. (Terra and her husband Joe are also part of supper club.)

Last week, Karen made an incredible meal with so much food. She made shrimp seviche, homemade plantains, a chicken and corn soup, spice rubbed kabobs, spinach salad & cold cake. All delicious! She put in so much work, time and effort into the meal, and we had a great time.

Wouldn't it be great to follow-up a supper club night with a handmade thank-you note? Here are two amazing ideas! The first is by Jennifer Holmes, she's stamped using PSA Rosettas and grapefruit ink pink, and then colored them in with a turquoise marker. She's layered this onto a turquoise base and used her Cricut to spell "thanks", which she's then adhered on a tag with a button. Adorable!

The next one is by Anthonette Chavez. It is charming and romantic. She's stamped the Eifel Tour from PSA Frenchie. I love the colors, rounded corner, and heart doily. Very sweet!

Do you send thank-you cards after a dinner party? I think it's a good practice, don't you?
