Easter Egg Hunt - Decorations

Decorating for the Easter Egg hunt was an absolute blast this year.  I made two triangle banners to hang from the porch to make things festive and stepped it up with some funky centerpieces and tissue paper pom-poms.

Making banners is really easy, all you need are a few things.

·         Bazzil Basic colorful cardstock
·         May Arts Ribbon
·         Helmar Adhesive tape runner
·         Elmer’s Glue stick
·         PSA Custom stamp – mine said “2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt, March 31st 2012” with lime & pink ink
·         2” punch

Step by step:
1.       Make your pattern triangle to use as a template by folding cardstock and cutting out a triangle
2.       Place the pattern triangle on cardstock, cut out different colors of triangles
3.       Stamp onto white cardstock, punch out with 2” inch circle punch
4.       Adhere triangles to the ribbon using glue and tape runner.   Leave 6” equal spacing in between
5.       Allow to dry completely before hanging

I made tissue paper pom-poms in white and yellow, and hung them using different color (blue, orange, pink & yellow) string and twine.  I realized how easy tissue pom-pom’s are but only after I spent the money on the “kit” and shipping.   Check this great tutorial out, I will never buy them again. http://www.marthastewart.com/how-to/tissue-paper-pom-poms-how-to.   All you need is some tissue paper and wire.

Then I filled up two glass hurricanes with plastic easter eggs and topped them with the tissue paper pom-poms.   It was rainy out after all, the tissue paper fell off in the wind... These were supposed to be the centerpieces for the food table at the hunt.

These decorations really helped make things festive! And they weren't too costly or time consuming.   How are you decorating for Easter?

So proud of these decorations, I linked them at a few crafty parties on the web.  I posted to:
